While I love most any colour with Cocoa, I have to admit that my favourite palate to work with has been the one used in Splendor: Topiary, Goldrush, Heavenly Blue, and Moonstruck. Makes for a super bright and cheery card or layout!

This week’s challenge: The only stamp that you can use is a sentiment stamp. You can use any papers, embellishments, etc. but no stamps unless it is a sentiment.
This proved harder than I thought it would be! I couldn’t believe how much I depend on other stamping. Luckily for me, I had a new stamp set (Card Chatter – Christmas) and paper (Believe) to play with.
I’ve been playing around with easel cards of late as gift card holders, hence the big blank spot at the bottom of the card. They are super easy to make and instructions can be found at Split Coast Stampers

Made for a friend that lost her father yesterday.
There’s been a little chill in the air this week… a sign that fall is coming and that there are only 15 weeks until Christmas (ack!). And that means Christmas Craft Fairs are coming soon (ack ACK!) Which means I’d better get started or I’ll not be prepared for the onslaught.
Enter crafters block.
I’m waiting for my Christmas care package of stamps and papers to arrive (oh please let it be Wednesday!) so I’ve got to look back into my stash and draw some insipiration. I have SO. MUCH. JINGLE. paper it hurts and, if you can believe it, a whole package of Heartfelt Wonder die cut pieces. Armed with these and my vial of prisma glitter…
It took too long to make but I’m happy with the result.

It’s a first – 2 cards out of one colour challenge! This one is straight from Wishes (see p. 12 & p.51) but it was one that she picked out a ways back as being particularly pretty. and bonus! I had the stamp set required and enough paper scraps to boot.
My 'willing' model, Dottie made the perfect backdrop - and she showed me that the ribbon had popped off of the backside of the card!

H2H13—Getting Patriotic
It’s been a sticky couple of days here in New Jersey, but there’s an underlying excitement in the air that’s stirring things up – must be that the 4th of July is coming up!
I’m doubly lucky that Canada Day falls at about the same time so I’m able to celebrate x2! This week’s Heart 2 Heart Challenge provided just the right level of challenge for me in that I had to figure out how to celebrate for both of the countries that I’m a citizen of! With stars/stripes/maple leaves!! I made it extra hard for myself by setting a deadline of Wednesday so that all of my Canadian friends would know I was thinking of them even though I’m far away (for now).
Here’s what I used to make this 6×6: It will become the corner piece of this year’s celebration layout.

This week has been particularly crafty for me as I prepare for the Close to my Heart convention: My team is participating in a Secret Sister exchange and I’ve had loads of fun creating hand made paper projects for her to enjoy! Be on the lookout in July for all the goodies!
In between projects though, I had a hankering to use up some of my older papers and there was a perfect challenge at Design Dollies and it was another colour challenge:
I absolutely LOVE grey and yellow together and {bee}ing that I have plans to move home to Canada soon, I figured I’d need some ‘I Miss You’ cards. Here’s what I came up with!

Why have I been participating in so many challenges lately? They have really fired up the creative juices, that’s why! I wholeheartedly encourage all of you scrappers to get out there and challenge yourselves - you might just be surprised at what you find inside.
